By June 30, 2022, VPS stakeholders will know that the superintendent and district leadership team have initiated a strategic planning process for 2022-23 with broad and diverse public engagement opportunities to create a shared vision and identify goal areas, target objectives and measurable outcomes for the next five years.
When the Superintendent Transition Team first reviewed school district data, it was clear that two sets of themes emerged. The first set were themes that the team felt could be addressed during this school year. The second set were themes that seemed to require a more long term focus. The team did not want to lose the long term themes so established this goal to help transition the thinking that was generated through this process into a larger stakeholder engagement opportunity by reviewing and updating the district’s strategic plan.
A shared vision gives a common sense of direction.
A common direction provides clarity in what we are working toward together with shared expectations.
With shared expectations, more gets accomplished collectively with fewer disagreements/barriers.
Fewer disagreements/barriers help us achieve our goals.
Achievement of goals builds, strengthens and serves our community.
