Another year with some fun games! You can check out their OGPC links below and play them online.
The theme for 2023-24, Season 17, was "Cycles".
Wakey, Wakey was made by The Odd Invalid Salute Team. Wakey, Wakey is an escape adventure game where you are a celebrity and have just woken up, but there is a problem. The paparazzi have broken into your house and are trying to find you. You must escape without getting caught. This will require you to sneak past them and find keys to eventually get out. Play the game at this link.
Recursion was made by the Dream WeaversTeam. Recursion follows the the story of a girl, Lilac, who works at a convenience store at a late shift. Every evening, when she goes to sleep, she has the same recurring nightmare a random man will get her at her work place. Eventually Lilac becomes tired of this and decides to defeat the man in her dream to stop this cycle of nightmare. The game play revolves around Lilac ( you ) collecting four items in a seven minute time limit to defeat the man. To collect the items, you have to find them. While you struggle to find them within the time frame, enemies you can defeat will come around and try and defeat you. If you do not have all four items, you will get a game over at the time limit. If you have all four items and win, it will trigger a winning cut scene and end the game. Play the game at this link.
Accounting for Time was made by the Studio Mikcycle Team. In "Accounting for Time," players step into the worn-out shoes of Daryl, an office worker trapped in a cycle of abuse under the tyranny of his boss, Mr. X. Daryl's days are filled with menial tasks, belittlement, and constant criticism, leaving him demoralized and exhausted. However, Daryl discovers an unexpected escape from his torment: his dreams. "Accounting for Time" intricately weaves the theme of the cycle into its narrative and gameplay, reflecting the repetitive nature of Daryl's daily struggles and his journey towards breaking free from it. Repetitive Dream Sequences: Wrapped in a monotonous routine of mistreatment at the hands of his boss, players must navigate through recurring dream sequences, each representing a different facet of Daryl's subconscious. While we didn't bring home any awards this year, the teams made some really fun games. You can check out their OGPC links below and play them online.
The theme for 2022-23 was "Breaking Conventions".
Ascension De La Torre was made by Team Bueno Games. "It's similar to your good ol' classic Tower Acsencion turned-based RPG. Multiple different bosses all with unique attack patterns and characteristics. But with a major twist, you are the bosses! Your main enemy is the 'protagonist' of this game, a classic run-of-the-mill white knight, and your goal is to beat him enough times for the 'player' to give up. Become the impossible-to-beat boss with Ascensión de la Torre! (PS: winning is not guaranteed in any way). " Play the game at this link.
Structure was made by Team Red Pandas. "You are stuck in a cave and their are strange sights all around you. It feels like your being watched constantly and you hear footsteps echo the halls that aren't yours. Use the batteries to maybe power something to find your way out of this purgatory. " Play the game at this link.
This Title is False was made by Team Disruptive REDACTED. "You play as Ooga, who is the first and only human in a world filled with robotic life. You start out in a robot operated compound and the only chance you have at getting freedom is using the power of paradoxes to fight your way through your robotic captors.
