Senior Top Ten
At the end of the seventh semester, the top ten seniors academically will be named to the Senior Class Top Ten. This group of individuals will be honored as such and will assume the responsibility for planning the senior graduation ceremony. Being named to the Top Ten is a prestigious honor. This group must meet the criteria for Academic Highest Honors and maintain good standing for the duration of the eighth semester. Academic improprieties in the eighth semester including, but not limited to, cheating, plagiarism, etc., may result in the student being removed from the graduation planning process and from any speaking parts in the graduation ceremony. Please note: Semester one AP courses that require an extension may not be included in the weighted GPA calculation for the determination of Top Ten students. In addition, the top ten ranking in Infinite Campus does not take into account the three (3) AP course requirements.

AP Course Policy
For the 2024-2025 school year, completing AP titled courses will still offer a GPA boost (5-point scale), but taking the AP test won't be mandatory. However, we do recommend students consider taking the AP exam (using Advanced Opps or paying out of pocket), if they're planning to apply to out-of-state colleges and believe they are capable of passing the exam with a score of 3 or higher.
* Please note: AP designation on the transcript and weighted GPA requires completion of the full year of the AP class. Only AP classes are factored on a weighted GPA scale. On the weighted scale, an A is worth 5 points, a B is worth 4 points, a C is worth 3 points, a D is worth 2 points, an F is worth zero points.
Exam fees are $99.00* per exam (less Advanced Opportunities state funding) for students who DO NOT qualify for free reduced lunch. AP Exam fees are $62.00* per exam for students who qualify and are signed up for free-reduced lunch. All fees will be assessed to student accounts on the first day of school. Failure to take the exam will result in an unused exam fee of $40.00.
*Prices as of 2/21/2025 and may change at the discretion of College Board.
Concurrent/Dual Credit
Students who pass the class earn the credit. The college or university transcript will indicate that it was a college level course. A fee is determined and charged by the college/university for those students receiving concurrent/dual credits. Ridgevue students have the opportunity to take college courses at a significantly reduced rate. Counselors can assist with Advanced Opportunities payment options. Graduating seniors can transfer the college credits they earned during high school to the college of their choice by contactIing the college where the dual credit was earned.
