STUDENT INJURIES
Even with the greatest precautions and the closest supervision, accidents can and do happen at school. They are a fact of life and a part of the growing-up process our children go through. Parents need to be aware of this and be prepared for possible medical expenses that may arise should their child be injured at school. Vallivue School District does not provide medical insurance to automatically pay for medical expenses when students are injured at school. This is the responsibility of the parents or legal guardians.
The district carries only legal liability insurance. Insurance covering medical expenses arising from an injury may be purchased for students who participate on athletic teams sponsored by the district. Brochures outlining the coverage and premiums are distributed at registration and are available in the school’s main office. Please read them and decide if it is worth your while to take this coverage.
EMERGENCY EVACUATION/FIRE DRILLS (See District Policy 514)
Each school building principal or designee will implement, schedule, and carry out evacuation or fire drills in compliance with the emergency plan. Evacuation or fire drills are to be conducted at least once each month when school is in session.
