On our first day together, students completed a STEAM challenge where they only had one large piece of construction paper, tape and scissors to create the largest paper chain.

After we read together the book titled All Are Welcome, students worked together to create a Classroom Charter. It will be re-written on poster paper; we will all sign it and it will hang on display in our classroom as words for us to live by this year in Room 201.

We enjoyed reading aloud Mr. Peabody's Apples and thereinafter we did a "toothpaste activity" to reinforce the author's message in the book. Much like toothpaste squeezed out of a tube, you cannot take back hurtful words once they are said.

Students worked on the 100's Number task activity at their tables which helped reinforce the importance of working together.
