Students participated in an art field trip at Hofstra University. Students were able to view different artwork with a focus on surrealism. The art director gave out emoji sticks for students to indicate their level of enjoyment of the artwork they examined. They then had a chance to utilize frottage and create theuir own wonderful textured artwork in the gallery. Thereinafter they created their own surrealistic collage in an art classroom. Students really had a wonderful time experiencing art in a different way and went home with two unique souvenirs of their own creations from the field trip.
