VUSD Plex

In today’s technology landscape, many modern desktops and laptops are designed to be thinner and lighter, often leaving out features that were once standard—such as built-in DVD drives. As streaming becomes the norm for video content, Vacaville Unified School District provides all teachers and staff with access to our dedicated Plex Media Server to support curriculum needs.

What is Plex?

Plex is a free-to-use video streaming service that allows us to stream videos across our district network. Videos are housed on a local media server and Plex is the app that gives you access to watch whatever is available on our local media server.

Note: The VUSD Plex server is only available to view on our District Network. Access outside of school sites will not work.

How to connect to Plex

If you are using Clever, find the Plex button in the Clever Portal and use that to navigate to the Plex website.

Upper right hand corner of the website, click "Sign In"

You'll need to input the email and password manually. Connecting with Google, Facebook, or Apple will not work.

Please keep login credentials confidential. Students should not be logging into this server. Staff Access Only

After you sign in with the VUSD Plex credentials, click "Open Plex" in the upper right hand corner

The main page will look like this

Navigate To Your Media

On the left-hand side of the main Plex page, you'll see several category options:

Movies: Feature-length films available for instructional use
TV Shows: Series and episodes provided for classroom relevance
Videos for Education: Educational videos that fall outside of mainstream media
Clips: Short video segments aligned with curriculum units
Kindergarten: A dedicated collection of videos curated for Kindergarten instruction
