August - December:
Make the most of your time at UWCEA! Try new activities, make friends, adapt to the IB Diploma Programme, and do the best that you can in your classes
January-March:
D1 meetings with University Advisor begin.

Start to explore different university options - what are your priorities for your university applications?
April-June:
Start to gather and create application materials:
Previous school transcript
College essay or personal statement
CV/activity list
Request teacher recommendations
Complete initial draft of Student Strengths Form for your university advisor
Continue to explore your university options:
Learn about the timeline and deadlines for the countries/universities where you might apply.
Discuss university locations and expenses with your family to ensure you're all on the same page.
Join virtual or in-person sessions with a variety of universities to explore a range of possibilities.
Start to add universities to your "Considering" list in Maia Learning.
August-September:
Start to finalize application materials (essays, activity lists, etc.). If applying to the US, work on completing the general Common App sections.
Join virtual or in-person sessions with universities. Reach out to university representatives with questions you might have as you finalize your application list.
Start to move schools from "Considering" in Maia Learning to "Applying." Work with university counselor on finalizing a balanced list for university applications.
October-November:
Prepare financial aid application materials.
Submit early applications (US and around the world).
December:
Finalize regular decision application materials before the December school holiday, and be ready to submit the applications.
If you applied early anywhere, you'll start to receive decisions from universities. Meet with your university advisor as needed to compare financial aid packages and other details.
January-March:
Submit any remaining applications, being sure to beat all of your deadlines.
April:
Consider your options! For many university systems around the world (including the US and UK), you'll likely have all of your decisions from universities. Plan to commit to a university by May 1 at the latest.
Once you have any required documents from your university, submit your student visa application (if needed). Allow plenty of time for this process.
