International awards:
Finalist in the 8th e-Learning Excellence Awards at the European Conference on e-Learning (ECEL) 2022.
Previous awards in the industry included being a silver award winner in the ‘Learning and Growth’ category at the Old Mutual Service Technology Administration (OMSTA) rewards and recognition event (2011).
On May 22, 2024, the Wired4Women Tech Forum held its inaugural awards programme focused on ‘Celebrating Excellence in Tech’. The awards recognise the achievements of women across the tech industry, from CIOs and tech leaders to students starting their careers. There were 400 nominations, which were then whittled down to 53 finalists across 11 categories.
Gender diversity in the ICT industry still has a long way to go, both internationally and locally. The saying "you can't be what you can't see”, is vital for empowering women in the workplace and beyond. Role models are crucial.
The awards programme was designed to recognise, celebrate and elevate the achievements of women who are already doing great things and provide a platform for these role models.
The evening, hosted by ITWeb Brainstorm in partnership with Telkom, was a great success with over 250 guests in attendance at the event, held at The Venue, Houghton, Johannesburg.

The Institute of Information Technology Professionals South Africa’s (IITPSA) Annual President’s Awards event is a major highlight of the year for many in the industry, combining prestigious long-standing awards (since 1979) with unparalleled networking opportunities. It is an event that highlights the talent and commitment of individuals within the ICT industry. Nominees include a number of prominent people in various spheres of the ICT industry in South Africa.
I was selected as a finalist for the IT Personality Award 2023. The IT Personality of the Year Award is presented by the IITPSA in association with ITWeb and the Gordon Institute of Business Science. It recognises a person who has made an outstanding impact on the SA ICT industry over the past year and a significant contribution to the IT profession.
