In 2024 - the final year law students were taken on an excursion to visit the Western Cape High Court.
As part of an applied learning initiative, final-year Law students were afforded the opportunity to visit the Western Cape High Court, offering them valuable insight into the practical functioning of the judiciary and the application of legal principles in real-world contexts. This experiential engagement enhances students’ understanding of courtroom procedure, judicial reasoning, and the interplay between theory and practice, thereby deepening their legal acumen.
The visit also strengthens the University of the Western Cape’s commitment to contextual, socially responsive legal education, positioning our students as engaged and informed future legal professionals. Highlights from the visit were shared on relevant social media platforms, showcasing the Law Faculty’s dedication to experiential learning and fostering broader community interest in legal education and public service.
