Prompts for Discussion
An identity that you have in which you have experienced privilege (special right, advantage, or immunity granted or available only to a particular person or group). I encourage you to think expansively, as white and male may be common answers. How many different priveleged identities can we identify?
An identity that you have in which you have experienced feeling marginalized (treated as insignificant or peripheral). I recognize this can be a sensitive subject, and encourage us all to be respectful and compassionate.
An identity that you have in the academic science community that isn’t race, class, sex, gender, sexual orientation, country of origin, and immigration status. Ok, if you can’t think of anything, but I encourage you to think expansively.
An identity that you have pertaining to a hobby, activity, or fandom? Are there hierarchies among your hobby/fandom/activity group?
