Diversity

Leadership Identity: Diversity Knowledge Seeker and Scholar

Back in Winter Quarter when I was a Freshman, I took GWSS 257, Psychology of Gender. Prior to taking this course, I felt that my view on gender was already pretty open-minded. However, after a couple of lectures, I realized that I was wrong and became very intrigued in learning about the vast spectrum of gender. This particular course was a turning point in my academic career at UW because it made me want to take more Diversity courses in order to gain more knowledge in this area. As a result, in order to fulfill my general requirements, I would try to find courses that were considered a Diversity course. These courses included AES 150, ANTH 215, and GWSS 451. All of these classes have contributed to making me a more inclusive and open-minded person which I am very grateful for. Due to taking these Diversity courses I have declared Diversity as my minor and consider myself a Diversity Knowledge Seeker and Scholar because I am always eager to learn more about the different cultures our world is comprised of.
