I work as an assistant professor at the Faculty of "Artes Liberales", University of Warsaw, Poland. I am the secretary of the Laboratory for Semiotics (Faculty of "Artes Liberales", UW), a member of the Interdisciplinary Research Group on Picturebooks (University of Gdańsk) and a collaborator of the Centre for Research on Children's and Young Adult Literature (University of Wrocław).
I am a co-leader of Grow (with Rosalyn Borst and Chiara Malpezzi), an initiative that aims at stimulating transnational dialogue and collaboration among young scholars of children’s literature.
I have received the Polish Minister of Science and Higher Education Scholarship for Outstanding Young Scientists (2024) and the START Scholarship of the Foundation for Polish Science (2024). Additionally, in 2018 and 2021, I was a fellow at the International Youth Library in Munich.
Since 2017, I have regularly published reviews of children's books in a Polish online magazine, Kultura Liberalna.
Wondering how to pronounce my name? Since Polish may be challenging, here you can find my name written in the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) with a link to the standard Polish pronunciation: Krzysztof Rybak [ˈkʂɘʂ.tɔf ˈrɘ.bak].
