Our music program welcomes one and all to join us in helping to make our Sunday services vibrant and musically varied. We aim to create a supportive atmosphere for those willing to contribute to the church’s musical life.
Our non-audition choir typically presents music at one service per month. Contact us here to join.
Our team of UUSP Bell Ringers usually performs one Sunday a month. We generally rehearse on some Tuesday evenings and the Sunday morning of the week the Ringers will present. Contact us here to join.

Immediate Past Director of Music Jon Arterton
Jon holds a Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting from The New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and was twice a Vocal Fellow at the Tanglewood Music Festival. He also holds an MFA in Acting from Smith College. He was the founder and musical arranger of The Flirtations, the proudly gay a cappella singing group that performed at Carnegie Hall and in the film Philadelphia. In 2018 he and his husband James founded St. Pete’s 120-voice One City Chorus, specializing in songs of social justice.
Tim was a piano accompanist with the University of South Florida Department of Dance and the Pinellas County Center for the Arts. He created music for a wide range of dance forms including Ballet, Modern, and African dance. Tim was the Assistant Music Director at Unity Church of Clearwater. While there, he composed a collection of songs focusing on positive living. Tim is now writing music that commemorates the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s. His music has been featured by One City Chorus in St Petersburg, where he is the accompanist. Tim also provides joyful entertainment for residents of senior communities in Tampa Bay.
