Once you become a Ukiah High Wildcat, one of the many acronyms that you'll hear on campus is CTE. "You should take this CTE class!" "I have 2 more classes to complete my CTE pathway." "Did you know that some CTE classes can count toward your A-G and VPA Requirements?" So what exactly are CTE classes, and what is their purpose?
CTE = Career Technical Education
According to the California Department of Education, Career Technical Education is "A program of study that involves a multiyear sequence of courses that integrates core academic knowledge with technical and occupational knowledge to provide students with a pathway to postsecondary education and careers." Our CTE Standards are organized around 15 industry sectors which are graphed below:
Of these 15 industry sectors, Ukiah High School offers a WHOPPING 21 CTE Career Pathways. In order to achieve completion in one of the following pathways, students will need to pass 2 years of classes with a "C" or better in a specific CTE Pathway*. The best part? Many students are able to complete more than one by the time they graduate!
Below are the list of 21 CTE Pathways at Ukiah High School, and the list of classes needed to complete the pathway. Also, by clicking on each pathway, you will be taken to a short video, and possible careers that are connected with that CTE Pathway!
