CaliforniaColleges.edu is a free, state-supported tool that helps high school students explore careers and plan for the future. Students can take interest surveys to discover career paths that match their strengths, learn about different industries, and see what education or training is required. The platform also connects career options to colleges, majors, and programs in California, making it easier to plan next steps after graduation.
Tools To Use:
"This is a career assessment tool that asks students to think about their interest in several career-based tasks. Based on their responses, students are matched with up to six interest areas, as well as several careers. Students discover their strengths, preferences, and areas they can focus on as they work toward their goals."
"Work Values encourages students to think about which aspects of a job are most important to them. Students will see 20 cards, each with a different work values statement. Understanding their work values can help students decide which careers to explore."
"Helps students learn more about their strengths and what careers match them best. Students will rate their skills to see what they need to work on and which skills are important for their career."
