UUPCC Transition Frequently Asked Questions
Who is supporting Partnerships during this transition? What if we need help with our existing partnership?
Rev. Morgan McLean, former Chair of the UUPCC Board, and current International Engagement Program Manager in the UUA International Office, is supporting partnerships. She will host quarterly partnership calls, be available for one-on-one conversation, and help make partnership connections.

What if we want to start a new Partnership?
At this moment we are not establishing new partnerships. For congregations or groups considering new Partnerships, we encourage you to build a team of at least 5 people to begin to learn about international U/Uism and to consider what a Partnership might look like in your setting.
What will happen to the UUPCC website? Facebook?
The UUPCC Website has been archived.
The Facebook page will merge with the ICUU Facebook as a place for ongoing updates.
How do we engage our Partners in transition conversations?
We are entering a new phase of Partnership and relationships. The reports of the International U/U Collaboration Group have self-reflection questions for North Americans to engage with. Your congregation’s committee could start there together, and then invite your Partners into the conversation. These difficult conversations about expectations, money, and communication will deepen levels of connection and understanding.
What do we tell our congregations, ministers, and update websites about the transition? What’s the name now?
In 2020, the UU Partner Church Council (UUPCC) and the International Council of U/Us (ICUU) began a process of reflection and discovery.
In the fall of 2021, the UUPCC and the ICUU voted to legally dissolve their organizations and to enter into a time of intentional transition and redefinition. Currently, a newly formed group of six U/Us around the globe are forming the Leadership and Design Team for the next phase of this new vision.
The work of Partnership continues in the congregations, with the support of the UU Partnering Consultant with the UUA’s International Office during this time of transition. The staff of the International Office is also supporting in new ways, including the administration of transfers. The funds previously given as membership fees and donations to UUPCC will be held by the UUA to support ongoing Partnerships, as well as the process that is underway in reimaging international relationships. Gifts can be given to the UUA.

What is happening to the UUPCC history keeping and archives?
The UUPCC materials, including past newsletters and communications, meeting minutes, and photographs, are now stored at Andover-Harvard Library of Harvard Divinity School. The UUPCC established a formal agreement in 2017.
