UTOPIA ISD

Greetings Utopia ISD Students, Parents, and Guardians,

Dodd, J. (2020). A glimpse of a possible future. On The Wight. https://onthewight.com/jonathan-dodd-a-glimpse-of-a-possible-future/

This site provides college and career exploration material to all levels of students from elementary through high school. It is NEVER too early to start planning your future.

"Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising every time we fall."

- Ralph Waldo Emerson

As the counselor at Utopia ISD I would like to assist all students in their college and career plans after high school graduation. It is important to choose a career that is

  • fulfilling

  • matches your skillset

  • matches your values and culture

  • financially rewarding

  • in demand

  • located where you want to live

  • suited to your personality

You will be working for many years so let's plan to make them enjoyable.

In 1996 I earned a degree in Accounting from the University of South Africa, in 2005 a degree in Education from Schreiner University, and I'm almost finished with my Masters in Professional School Counseling with Angelo State University. I have a daughter at Texas A&M. My experience with universities spans continents and decades. I wish to use this experience to help students and families successfully navigate their future. Please do not hesitate to put in a request to meet with me. Sincerely, Mrs. Kay

When planning for a year, plant corn.

When planning for a decade, plant trees.

When planning for life, train and educate people.
