The Model Code of Ethics for Educators (MCEE) establishes principles for ethical best practice, mindfulness, self-reflection, and decision-making, setting the groundwork for self-regulation and self-accountability.
The MCEE serves as a guide for future and current educators faced with the complexities of P-12 education. The code establishes principles for ethical best practice, mindfulness, self-reflection, and decision making, setting the groundwork for self-regulation and self-accountability.
There are five overarching categories for defining the professional responsibility of all educators. These are called principles.
During each module in this training, you will have the opportunity to take a closer look at each principle and the standards associated with it. You will gain an understanding of how MCEE along with ProCADs, the Tennessee Teacher Code of Ethics, and InTASC Model Core Teaching Standards can help guide your professional ethical decision making.
