I am a seasoned registered nurse with over 25 years of clinical and educational expertise. Currently, I serve as a Nursing Professional Development Specialist at a 636-bed multi-specialty teaching hospital in central Texas.
My career began in the pediatric and adult medical-surgical float pool, where I gained broad clinical experience. I later discovered my passion for caring for individuals with mental health and chemical dependency issues on an inpatient crisis stabilization unit. This experience shaped my dedication to addressing complex patient needs with empathy and evidence-based practices.
After earning a graduate degree with a focus on leadership in nursing, I transitioned my skills in communication and interpersonal connection to a new role: supporting and developing the nurses who care for patients. Over the years, I have embraced opportunities to master every aspect of professional development, emerging as an expert in my specialty.
Now, I am eager to further expand my expertise and develop advanced leadership skills in nursing education and practice. To achieve this goal, I have embarked on the journey to earn a Doctorate in Nursing Practice.
