What's PMA?

The Physics, Mathematics, and Astronomy Departments at UT Austin are housed at 2515 Speedway, which was known officially as Robert Lee Moore Hall until July 13, 2020.

Robert Lee Moore was a mathematician who strongly held racist, sexist, segregationist views. In Moore's vision of this department, I would not be here. In my vision of this department, he isn't either.

The University has officially decided to rename the building PMA, and in accordance with this decision, the UT community is encouraged to update their websites, syllabi, and office listings to reflect this. Let's build a better UT together!
