This was a video animation using SketchUp to demonstrate the construction of the Sendai Mediatheque. One thing I found interesting is how the video portrays the different lighting on each floor.
Ito explains his thought process behind the Sendai Mediatheque's layout and purpose. He explains that the building functions are seven different layers in one. After that Ito comments that Japanese architecture is different because they value the space in between. Finally, he goes more in depth about "artificial barriers" versus nature, and how he incorporates nature into his creations.
