The purpose of the Juvare Steering Committee is to provide strategic direction during the setup and onboarding of the Juvare product suite. Following the setup and onboarding of the product suite, the Steering Committee will take ownership of the long-term success of the implementation, including approving new boards or features impacting multiple jurisdictions as well as setting the training requirements and expectations of users across the emergency management community in the state.
The Juvare Implementation is sponsored by the Utah Division of Emergency Management (DEM), in partnership with Salt Lake County Emergency Management and the Salt Lake County Health Department. DEM serves as the Juvare customer and owner of all Juvare products. The Steering Committee is authorized by the Director of DEM to make decisions regarding the product implementation during both the setup phase, which involves working closely with Juvare directly as well as the usage phase, when all jurisdictions around the state will be expected to leverage these products as primary crisis management tools. Funding for the product suite has already been committed, with contributions from DEM, Salt Lake County Emergency Management and the Salt Lake County Health Department.
The contract with Juvare for all of these tools runs for a term of five years, roughly from the end of 2021 to the end of 2025. The Steering Committee is authorized to the end of the contract term, and may be renewed if and when the contract with Juvare is also renewed.
