MOT: UDOT uses traffic data to develop maintenance of traffic plans that protect traffic flow during construction. UDOT puts extra emphasis on protecting traffic during construction, as this has a direct impact on the public. Maintenance of traffic plans include schedules, when projects are allowed to work, contract enforcements, diversion plans, queue estimates, and lane configurations.
MOT Analysis Request: Projects in each region can submit a request for an MOT analysis for their project to each UDOT traffic operations division. This is available for all region projects at any stage including scoping, design, and construction. These requests can be submitted by region staff including traffic operations, project managers, design engineers, and consultants contracted with UDOT.
MOT Status Check: Projects can check the status of their request for MOT analysis using the status page.
User Cost Worksheet: UDOT uses the user cost established by the Texas Transportaion Institute to develop user costs associated with traffic delays to develop disinsentives used by contracts to enforce MOT requirements. Theses values are a factor of the total user cost.
