The UDOT Traffic Operations Division maintains traffic analysis guidelines, traffic data sets, and the analytics tools associated with that traffic data. Traffic operations data is used to run live traffic operations including ramp meters, traffic signals, variable speed limits, and travel times posted on variable message signs. This data is also used throughout every stage of every UDOT project from project prioritization to concept development through design and alternative analyses, MOT, construction evaluation, and after action reports.
