Resilience

UDOT seeks to invest in the resilience of Utah’s transportation system through a program of projects built on performance goals that will minimize the impact to the traveling public of disruption. The goals of this LRP are designed to support transportation as a Pathway to Quality of Life that exhibits a resilience which is only achieved through close coordination of planning efforts and committed investments in a multimodal system. UDOT will continue to improve resilience through the development of a more detailed Resilience Improvement Plan. UDOT’s current resilience approach includes an evaluation of risk through natural threats and asset pairs determined by the probability of occurrence and evaluated by the cost of both the asset and the access or delay of the traveling public as outlined in the Transportation Asset Management Plan.

Where possible, UDOT is coordinating with resource agencies to develop programmatic approaches for the environmental process and any necessary mitigation.
