LRP Connections to Other Transportation Plans

Transportation planning activities happen across the state of Utah and at UDOT and have produced multiple focused plans, such as the Utah Transportation Asset Management Plan (TAMP), Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP), Freight and Rail Plan, and Active Transportation Plans. These plans represent some of the multiple interests and perspectives rounding out Utah’s continuous, comprehensive, and cooperative transportation planning process designed to encourage investments in a multimodal transportation system ensuring the safe and efficient movement of people and goods while balancing environmental and community commitments (Performance Based Planning and Programming Guidebook, September 2013).

Utah Transportation Asset Management Plan: The Utah TAMP contains the goals, measures, and strategies to address asset condition and management on Utah highways.

Utah Strategic Highway Safety Plan: The Utah SHSP contains the goals, measures, and strategies to address safety on Utah highways.

Utah Freight and Rail Plan: The Utah Freight Plan contains the goals, measures, and strategies to address needs for freight and rail within Utah.

Utah Aeronautics Plans: The UDOT Aeronautics Division has several plans and on-going efforts that define strategies to address air transportation needs across the state.

Utah Active Transportation Plan: The Utah Active Transportation Plan combines local active transportation plans across the state into an easily accessible planning map.

Public Transit: There are several transit agencies across the state that are independently managed. Information related to their operations can be found at the website linked above.
