Traffic and Safety

Overview

Located in the regions and central UDOT offices, the Traffic & Safety Division oversees the research and programs that help improve transportation safety statewide. We manage the safety improvement programs for work zones, school zones, traffic signals, and active transportation.

We also supervise studies that determine the source of crashes and other traffic hazards, and offer ways to minimize these dangers. Our fast-paced projects vary as we create standards to address how people move on Utah roads and manage funds to make improvements.

The Central Traffic & Safety Group provide a broad view of the state while the Region Traffic & Safety are more focused on their specific area.
