Research & Innovation
Overview
The Research team works with UDOT experts and external partners to identify and prioritize transportation research that meets the Department’s most important needs.
At an annual prioritization workshop called UTRAC, research staff manage selected projects, publish final reports, host final presentations, and support project champions in implementing research results. We also manage UDOT’s library.
Our Innovation team gathers employee ideas and facilitates UDOT’s implementation of the best ideas. Many of these ideas are highlighted in the annual Innovation and Efficiencies report.
The collective Research & Innovation division does the following:
Works with national transportation organizations
Initiates national surveys
Coordinates with UDOT’s TRB annual meeting attendees
Performs quick research requests,
And much more.
