Aircraft Mechanic Positions

Position Description

Incumbents in this job perform FAA certified inspections and maintenance on State owned aircraft. Responsibilities include performing authorized maintenance on aircraft, engines, propellers, accessories, appliances, and component parts. Incumbents also maintain pertinent inventories and service the shop, related equipment, and related hanger facilities. Duties may include:

• Ensures proper aircraft maintenance and operational readiness.

• Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems, make adjustments, repairs and/or performs preventative maintenance on computers, vehicles, equipment, or machinery, etc.

• Repairs, cleans, adjusts and/or performs preventive maintenance on computers, vehicles, equipment, tools, or machinery, etc.

• Maintains detailed inspection or investigation records, prepares reports, and attends to other related administrative requirements.

• Schedules and conducts inspections and/or investigations.
