Book Clubs
Book Clubs
Read. Reflect. Connect. Grow.
TRAILS Book Clubs provide a flexible way to explore engaging professional texts, deepen your understanding of history and effective instructional practice, and connect new ideas to your work with students. Book Clubs are designed to encourage professional reflection, meaningful discussion, and collaboration with fellow educators while giving you the flexibility to complete much of the learning on your own schedule.
Each Book Club includes 10 activities available through the NPE Learning Center:
5 multiple-choice quizzes (1 hour each)
5 one-hour virtual Zoom discussions (2 hours each, 1 for reading and 1 for discussing.)
Each completed activity earns TRAILS program hours, for a total of up to 15 hours per Book Club when all activities are completed.
Zoom discussions provide an opportunity to connect with other TRAILS educators, share perspectives, discuss key ideas from the book, and consider practical ways to apply your learning.
Program hours and stipend amounts are awarded for eligible completed activities. See the TRAILS Engagement Menu for current stipend amounts.
Choose a book. Join the conversation. Turn great ideas into great practice.

Leverage the curiosity in your classroom through the use of ten high-impact Question Routines
Trevor MacKenzie’s fourth publication targets the landscape of questioning in the inquiry classroom as he provides a series of Question Routines, each designed to help students (and teachers) sort, organize, and justify their questions in order to help shape learning experiences. In Inquiry Mindset Questions Edition, MacKenzie outlines the 8 Benefits of Question Routines, Question Misconceptions, Provocations, and how to co-design to help build question competency in our students.
