Thank you letter:
Preceptors who spend 8 or more hours of clinical time with a student will receive a signed thank you letter from the Program Director and Director of Clinical Education with the total number of completed precepting hours to assist in obtaining CEUs. This letter is the medium the GSN uses to provide evidence that they precepted a student. Click here for: Thank you letter templates
Individual organizations authorize teaching/precepting activities (e.g. live activities) in lieu of CME credit or in addition to CME credit. The university does not provide direct CE to individuals for teaching/precepting.
Family physicians can get a maximum of 60 prescribed AAFP credits for teaching during a 3 yr cycle. AAFP: http://www.aafp.org/cme/about/types.html

Physicians, physician assistants, or advanced practice nurse practitioners who serve as a “preceptor” for qualifying clinical rotations required by a medical school, physician assistant program, or advanced practice nursing program may be eligible for an income tax credit.
