In preparation for clinical rotations, the Phase I Clinical Director will:
Review the Student Clinical Guidance site with incoming PMHNP students
Ensure each student completed the child care security background check
Ensure each student establishes an NPI number
The Phase I and Phase II Clinical Education Director is responsible for reviewing the Student Clinical Guidance site in its entirety with all incoming PHMNP students at the beginning of the Year I, Fall semester. However, the Phase I Clinical Director should review Student Responsibilities located under the Clinical Preparation and Requirements tab in the Student Clinical Guidance site during their first semester in the program.
The Phase I Clinical Director will ensure all students understand the following:
It is the students responsibility to ensure all licensures and trainings are up to date
It is the students responsibility to maintain certifications and provide to the POC/Preceptor at each clinical rotation prior to arrival.
All students must use their Government Travel Card for all clinical travel. It is the students responsibility to ensure travel card and account info are transferred from outgoing command to gaining command during in-processing. They will also ensure their travel card is activated and not in jeopardy of expiration at any time during the entire program.
Failure to comply with the above may result in formal counseling, removal from clinical rotations, and/or, removal from the program as determined by the Program Director.
All PMHNP students require a child care security background check. This is especially important for our students child and adolescent mental health clinical rotation. Although, this is coordinated by our GSN Company Commander and completed during orientation, it is critical the Phase I Clinical Director follow up and ensure completion NLT the end of year one.
