The spiritual self, according to William James, is who a person is at the core. This is the aspect of the self that's most intimate, concrete, or permanent and includes an individual's personality, core values, and conscience that don't just change throughout one's life.
One's unique experiences can be the source and basis from where they can deepen their spiritual self. Spiritual identity responds to issues that involve questions about the nature, purpose, and meaning of one's life, resulting in behaviors and actions that represent an individual's core values.
THE CONCEPT OF THE SOUL
Kaluluwa (Tagalogs), Ikararuwa (Ibanags), or Karuruwa (when it departs). Which points to the two realities of the soul: physical that connects the soul to the body and its life, and spiritual, where the soul exists.
Kadkadduwa (Ilokanos). It means the union of the physical body and the soul.
The Dungan Iloilo - refers to the soul that's typically invisible.
RITUALS AND CEREMONIES - commonly practiced in the Philippine culture. Rituals are defined as a kind of ceremony that employs a series of activities that use gestures, words, and objects when performed.

Religion - a system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices that involve committing and devoting oneself to a certain faith or observance.
Religious doctrines and rituals vary among different religious denominations, which could be organized or non-institutionalized.
Magic - involves charms or spell that are believed to have the ability to control natural forces.
Resorting to magic prevails in all societies, be it in organized religions or systems such as animism or shamanism. Religion and magic, however, are separated since the former acknowledges religious doctrines such as miracles, while the latter acknowledges the occult.
Witchcraft - involves the use of black magic or sorcery usually by connecting with the devil.
Witchcraft was seen as a means to control one's mind, body, or property against their will.

The spiritual self is the one that desires to find meaning with varied human experiences in order to get in touch with the core and depth of one's being. Thus, spirituality is man's search for meaning given their varies experiences in life.
