Second Meeting: April

Goals: To prepare for registration starting on April 12th.


  1. Check Buddy Program Channel on the Psychology Student Discord for This or That Icebreaker!

  2. Mentors: Please review registration, holds, and peer advising requirements with your buddy!!

    1. Show them where they can find all this information on Banner!

→ Remind mentees that Peer (Group) Advising is mandatory if they have not completed the 5 classes below by the end of this semester:

PSYC 101 - General Psychology

PSYC 260 - Psychological Statistics

RHET 203 - Writing in Psychology

PSYC 265 - Research Design

PSYC 270 - Biological Psychology


  1. The Registration Time Chart (You can see how many credits you have earned on the Degree Evaluation page on banner! Your standing does not include credits for classes are currently enrolled in)

  1. Also, don’t forget to give tips and tricks!

    1. Setting an alarm for their registration time

    2. Using the App Coursicle to get notified when closed classes have openings

    3. Scheduling classes at times they will feel most ready to learn (Do you prefer am or pm classes?)

    4. Reaching out to professors to see if their modality will work for you (Are you a fan of synchronous or asynchronous classes?)

    5. Or any other advice/ tips and tricks you know!
