The Utah School for the Deaf parent infant program is fortunate to offer the services of Deaf mentors to families of children with hearing loss in early intervention. Deaf mentors are Deaf adults who work with the families and parent advisors to promote the development of skills in American Sign Language and a clear understanding of Deaf culture. They participate in home and community visits, as well as tele-intervention, toddler group, story time, and various other activities hosted by PIP. Jamie Warengo-Threet is the Lead Deaf Mentor.
