Early Childhood Specialist for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
Deborah King received her first degree in education from Idaho State University and went on to earn her Master of Science from Idaho State University earning an exceptional child endorsement as well. She was able to teach and coach at the Idaho School for the Deaf and Blind. She had the chance to be an adviser for various groups at the school and teach a variety of subjects, including music for the young children. She stayed there for a time and then back to her hometown school district and worked as a teacher of the deaf for 20 years. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Educational Interpreting and an endorsement for American Sign Language. She has previously been a member of NAD and ASLTA. Through her years of experience, she has been teaching American Sign Language to both Deaf and hearing students. She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education, Health, and History. Deborah has coached volleyball both at the high school level and a short time at the university level. She has been active in coaching tennis as well. She recently moved to St. George and works with the Parent Infant Program.
