Career Exploration

We don't expect students to decide absolutely upon a career path while they are in high school. But we do strive to support students in being career ready -- so that when they are ready to pick a career path, they have in hand all of the skills and supports necessary: they know how to think critically, have developed leadership skills, have assessed their own strengths and weaknesses, are adept at taking risks, know how to access resources, and have adopted a growth mindset.

Participating in a job shadow is an excellent way to see the the day-to-day realities of a profession. Email your gifted facilitator if you would like help setting up a shadow. *During COVID, we recommend against students doing in-person job shadows. We are happy to help students set up virtual job shadows/inquiries with professionals.

Students, join us for our Career Pathways series! Each month, a guest speaker from our community speaks with gifted students on an area of professional expertise: marketing, engineering, non-profit work, filmmaking, architecture, etc. Learn more about the required schooling, training, and day-to-day realities of a career you're interested in!
