Kansas Career Technical Education

All art classes follow the course competencies of Kansas Career Technical Education in the Graphic Design Pathway. Certain aspects of each class are designed to prepare students for after high school, whether they take the career or college route. These are called Work Skills, as these skills can be utilized in every career outside of the classroom. Students will be graded on these skills weekly. 

• Punctuality: Coming to class on time.

• Staying on the assigned task.

• Being prepared to work each day.

• Cooperation: Works well with the instructor and other students.

• Cleaning up after yourself. 

• Participation.

Just as you don't get paid for not showing up to work, being absent can cause you to lose points on your weekly grade. When you are absent (whether from sickness, appointment, or sports), you must speak with Mrs. Pontius about earning these points back.
