How to Earn a Varsity Letter in Track and Field

1. Finish the season in good standing with school, team, and coaches.

2. Earn 50 POINTS by the end of the season. How to earn points:

Place in Individual Event in Varisty Meet

1^st place = 10 points 4^th place = 4 points

2^nd place = 8 points 5^th place = 2 points

3^rd place = 6 points 6^th place = 1 points

Place in Relay in Varsity Meet

1^st place = 2.5 points 4^th place = 1 point

2^nd place = 2 points 5^th place = .5 points

3^rd place = 1.5 points 6^th place = .25 points

Improvement = 1 point

Bonus Points

NCKL Champion = 8 points per event

State Qualifier = 10 points per event

Fall Sport Participant = 2 points

Winter Sport Participant = 2 points

80% Summer Weights Participation = 2 points

Attend Practice on non-school days = 1 point per practice

Set School Record = 10 points

Make Top 5 Performance List = 5 points

Track Returner = 1 point per year

3. Varsity Letters can be awarded in special circumstances at the coach’s discretion.

** All-League Track will be the 1^st place winner of each event in the NCKL meet. (NCKL Constitution)
