High School Band
Color Guard Audition Information
If you will be a 9-12th grader in band for the 20-21 school year, you are eligible to audition for the marching band color guard! Mrs. Janssen is working on figuring out how to do auditions virtually during this time of social distancing. In the meantime, there are TONS of awesome guard videos and channels on Youtube. Take a look and get excited!
Drumline Audition Information
All percussionists enrolled in HS band will automatically have some place on the drumline. The audition for these students will be to find a good placement for you on snare, quads, bass or cymbals.
Students who are NOT percussionists may also audition to be on the drumline if there are available spots. If you don't make the marching drumline, there may be other opportunities for you to play in the percussion ensemble in the spring, or on the drumline if we do any sort of novelty halftime performance.
Drum Major Audition Information
Students who will be juniors or seniors in the marching band are eligible to audition for the role of drum major. Email Mrs. Janssen if you are interested in being in this leadership position!
2020 Band Camp | July 27-30
Band is one of the only classes that has 9th-12th graders together as one group. Band Camp is an opportunity for the whole team to bond, learn about the marching fundamentals, and get a head start on our halftime show before the craziness of school starts! We work hard and have a TON of fun! SCHS Band Camp is unique because we actually go to camp! We spend three days and two nights at Camp Christy playing games, making music, and learning about each other!
2020 Band Camp will be held July 27-30th. Cost is ____ per camper. This fee covers all meals and our stay at Camp Christy. Please email Mrs. Janssen if you need assistance with the band camp fee. We do not want anyone to miss out on this opportunity because of finances.

KMEA Audition Info
All band students grades 9-12 are eligible to audition for the District KMEA Honor Band. Students selected to perform in this band will then be eligible to audition for All-State Band! This link has audition excerpt information. Mrs. Janssen likely has the music you need - all you have to do is ask for it!
