About Me
I have been teaching at Andover Central Middle School since 2022. I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Taylor University in 2008. I started my teaching career in 2008 as a Title 1 paraprofessional in New Hampshire. Since then, I have taught grades K-8 in public and private schools in 3 different states. I earned my Master's degree to be a reading specialist in 2021.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy reading, going on walks, and spending time with my husband and two dogs.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions. Let's have a great year!
As humans, our brains are wired to learn language. However, we are not wired to read. That's why we learn how to speak long before we learn how to read. In order to learn how to read, we have to train our brains to think differently. So if you or someone you know is struggling to read, know that you are not alone. It takes time to rewire your brain to learn how to read. I have posted some tools and resources on this page that I hope will be helpful.
