This is a Highschool Marching Band competition held at Bill Snyder Family Stadium (K-State, Manhattan, KS) with a performance by the Kansas State Marching Band at the conclusion of the day.Â
Students, staff and parent volunteers will meet at the school (early AM), load busses and drive to Manhattan.
Before the BGMT performs, they will have a session with some K-State Marching Band staff to give pointers on how to make their performance the best it can be.
Performances take place on the Bill Snyder Family Stadium field! Its a very exciting time for the students.
After the BGMT performs, everyone stays to watch the remaining schools perform. At the end of the performances, awards/ratings are given to each school who participated. The grand finale is a performance by the Kansas State Marching Band.
The buses load up and drive back to the high school, generally arriving well after midnight (1am-2am).
Many volunteers are needed to make the day a success. The BPC along with other parent volunteers are needed to chaperone buses, help serve meals (feeding the kids 3 times) and moving performance equipment. Please reach out to the BPC if you can help!
