The Seaman High School Bank opened its doors in 1927. The idea to start a bank came from Fred A. Seaman himself. Mr. Seaman turned the bank organization to Mr. Charles D. "Chuck" Logan. He ran the bank until he became principal of the school in 1931 and passed the bank over to Mrs. Eunice Ward, a business teacher. In 1933, the bank closed for 3 days by the president's proclamation. In 1954, the bank was moved over to Lyman. In 1965, Mrs. Ward retired after 34 years, and Mrs. Dorothy Woodburn became the sponsor. In 1968, the bank students appeared on colored TV because the Seaman High School bank was the only student-operated bank in the nation at the time. On August 31, 1970, the Seaman High School bank opened for business at a new Seaman High School location (here).
