5 Hacks for Google Docs

Do your students take class notes? Why not take it digital?

At the start of the semester, have your students share a google doc with you titled in a way that lets you know who and what. For example, slarsenBIOnotes or slarsenENGJournal. Have your students use it to do all the bits of small work that happen daily in class: answers to warm up questions, vocabulary, notes, reading reactions, character charts, reflections - the things they used to do in a spiral notebook. Once they share that document at the start of semester, you can see the work they do in it all year/semester long. You have access to open up their document anytime. NO MORE LUGGING NOTEBOOKS HOME ON WEEKENDS TO GRADE.

*An important trick is that you have them add their new work at the top of the document and date each entry.
