USD 290 strives for consistency, validity, and equity in grading and reporting practices. Standards based grading progress reports and student feedback will allow grading and reporting to serve as a road map of student progress in achieving their learning goals. This accurate reflection of student progress is attained because teacher instruction and learning is directly related to standards.
There will be three levels of achievement you will see on your child's progress report.
"M" = Meets. This would indicate that the student can independently apply concepts and skills to meet grade level standards.
"P" = Progressing. This would indicate that a student is making progress toward independently applying concepts and skills to meet grade level standards.
"N" = Needs Support. This would indicate a student needs additional support in applying concepts and skills to meet grade level standards.
