Students may choose between violin, viola, cello, or bass. Some benefits of studying an instrument in an ensemble include forming positive social relationships, developing discipline in daily practice, and increasing connections between oneself and community through service and performance.
Music is a multifaceted discipline that requires knowledge and skills from the areas of history, math, theory, health, and physical movement. Students will also encounter daily opportunities to develop self-awareness, collaboration skills, clear and honest communication, and a sense of belonging.
Students give back to their community by performing in concerts at their schools and in other local spaces. If you would like to make a suggestion or request for student appearances at your organization or an event, please reach out to elena.kolbrekdeleon@usd232.org.
