Funding for college can be found in a wide variety of places from the school’s online scholarship portal to the majoring department’s website, from local charitable organizations to national philanthropic societies. There are 12 public colleges and 53 private colleges in Illinois, 107 historically Black colleges & universities (HBCUs), 337 Hispanic serving institutions (HSIs), and countless other post-secondary institutions nationwide.
