The midterm will cover Chapter 4 and what I have covered in class since the last midterm, except clocking and dynamic logic. It will cover 4.1-4.3, 4.5 (except 4.5.4), 4.6 (except 4.6.2), and 4.8. It will not cover the nand/nor models in Chapter 5 that we have not covered in class, but will cover the nand/nor/compound gates that we discussed in class. The midterm will be in SCI 159.

I have posted a page giving advice about the timing equations in the text. Please note that the Chap. 5 equations can be replaced with the more accurate method we discussed in class.

Here are the readings for the midterm. The midterm will cover Chapter 1, with emphasis on 1.1-1.6, Chapter 2, except for 2.2.2, 2.4, 2.5 and 2.8, Chapter 5 only 5.3.1 - 5.3.4 and Chapter 3, except for 3.2.4, 3.3.2.2-3.3.2.5, 3.3.3, 3.4.6, 3.5 and 3.6. In general, emphasis will be on material covered in class and on the homeworks.
