RhodyTHON is The University of Rhode Island’s Dance Marathon that benefits our local children’s hospital, Hasbro Children’s, in Providence, Rhode Island! We have been collaborating with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals for many years to support Hasbro Children’s. Throughout the school year, RhodyTHON hosts fundraising events, like dodgeball tournaments, craft nights, and opportunities to spend time with the kids. In the spring, RhodyTHON hosts a 10-hour-long main event filled with music and dancing, performances, activities, and more to fundraise for the children receiving treatment at Hasbro. During the last hour of the event, we reveal the fundraising total from throughout the year.
RhodyTHON encourages all URI students to participate! You can get involved by serving on the Executive Board, joining the Committee, or registering with a team or as an individual participant. The Committee works with the Executive Board throughout the year to help plan and prepare for all of our events. You can register on RhodyTHON’s fundraising platform, Donor Drive, as an individual or as part of a team. There are many ways to get involved in our organization and to help Change Kids Health and Change the Future!
Our first dance marathon was in 2018, where we raised$147,000 and broke The Children's Miracle Network record of becoming the largest first-year dance marathon in history! Since then, we have raised over $600,000 for Hasbro Children's!
